uv maps and displacement

He hello there, i'm relative new to lightwave and i've a problem that i don't understand.
When i use a displacement map and i project it planar it's ok and works perfectly, but if i want to use a uv map i won't get any displacement. :confused:
Does anyone know what the problem of this is.

Try putting it on the bump channel activate bump displacement not displacement map. Input your displacement height. And turn up subd level.
