Hey shrox,
There's a game company here in Austin (edgeofreality.com) that are looking for 3d artists with game experience, etc...
Here's a link to their craigslist posting...
I know nothing about this company and your experience but I thought I'd give you a heads up just in case. Your website seems to be game-centric so .... :) Hope this helps.

That says allot about our economy right now. Guys like you should be working so much that you have time to get on this forum. I've seen allot of your stuff that you've posted and your website and I've been utterly amazed by the talent. You're not alone though. I'm noticing more and more people selling stuff on this forum or out of work. It kind of almost feels like a second family here. We all talk to the same guys everyday or so and like I've seen on your other post, people who are more fortunate are willing to help. Do you plan to travel to somewhere in the next two months? Live with family? Please just keep your pets. :) Pet's are the best thing when you're going through a rough time. I don't know what I'd do without my German Shepherd, Basko. My prayers are with you man!

My cats would love that crazy stairs place. They're acrophiles.
That picture was taken a few days after we moved. They had never climbed stairs in their life, and instantly fell in love with the geometry of it.
Stay busy with the job search, and don't be too proud to fall back on something lesser. I had occasional freelance work that kept me going for a while, but my job search went on for years and destroyed my life savings and my credit. If I had to do it over again, I'd have searched for an admin job from the beginning and worked my way up again.
I got lucky this year and got a good position doing what I do best. But there were hundreds of other applicants for my position. It was a ream of resumé paper. (For a graphic designer position.)

I've had to fall back on teaching piano and guitar lessons. Not exactly what I want to do the rest of my life but it is helping with the bills. My wife has a decent job so that helps and I'm still working my lesson criteria still. It's tough out there right now as we all know. I just can't wait until things get better. If they don't, then I'm going to watch every episode of "Survivor Man" and venture out. :hey:

also i got accused of 'cat napping' him as he didn't go back to his home 5 doors away...
he stayed!...had him for around 12 years now..all my other cats have gone now...still they made it to over 16 years old each...surpose dyson knows a good place for food!

Speaking of adoption, my wife and I are thinking of adopting another dog this year. I'd love to get another Shepherd. She wants a small little dog like a Malti-poo so we'll probrably go with that first. I love to see, what other wise would be a rejected, unloved pet, turn into a happy pet with plenty of love in our family. Unfortunately, we've spoiled our Shepherd.

There must be some preset pattern in cat genetics that creates this fur design over and over. These two are identical down to the finest patterns of color, except one is overall more tan and the other orange. It's a subtle difference, though. Another way we tell the difference is, while they are both double-pawed, one of them has one less claw on one thumb. The easiest difference to see now is their weight. One is a finicky eater, the other a vacuum cleaner.

There is Border Collie Rescue, and many other breed specific rescue groups. I got my Sydney from BCR. Rescues are kind of loose knit groups that foster animals in their home, rather than a central location like an animal shelter.
Good luck shrox, I'm sure things will eventually get much better for you.

Tim's cats...those two Siamese. Years back, Tim put me up at the family residence for a week. The first night, I laid my head down into cat urine. The following night, I discovered cat turds at the foot of the bed. The next night...something new. I only passed comment to Tim's youngest, who...casually informed mom n' dad at the dinner table on the fourth nite'...
It was determined that the bed sheets used on my bed had been "marked" by one of the two Siamese, when up in Topeka.
The look and reaction at the Jenison table...priceless!

My wife and I just adopted a dog named Shadow this summer from the humane society. He is a 1 year old German Shepherd/Rottweiler cross. I guess he was seized from his previous owners because he was stabbed by someone they knew and they couldn't afford the vet bill to get him stitched up. The guy who had stabbed him ended up getting charged. He is a very mild tempered dog considering what he has been through. We got him mainly as a guard dog but he has turned out to be more of a big sucky dog than anything. :)
More dogs! I love dogs! So much more fun!

Cool, a rotweiler/German shepherd mix, that's a good looking dog. As soon as I get a picture of my pup on the computer I'll post it. He's 3/4 boxer and 1/4 Doberman. He's a good looking dog. Just looks like a boxer only with a longer snout.

Border collies are the dog of dogs. I had two, my exwife has the other one named Ska. Ska's grandfather was the dog that herded the sheep from the David Letterman set, into an elevator, then out and into a taxi in New York traffic. I can't seem to kind the video online.
So even before Ska existed, we saw what she would be capable of. She figured out the alphabet when we tried spelling things. Her favorite show was Star Trek, and she had Commander Riker squeaky toy. She also loved to play Jedi knight when I would play with a lightsaber around her. Did you know that border collies can actually grab the beam itself of the lightsaber with their teeth and swing around?

Animals are funny sometimes that's for sure. He may be over protective of your wife since he was "king" of the home before. I remember when we got our dog, we met up with the shelter coordinator at a Petco store during dog adoption night. Basko scared the crap out me. She brought him out and he almost came towards me with a hundred different teeth and a deep bark. Good thing he seemed to like me not long after that or I wouldn't have hands to type with. LOL

Sorry to hear about your dog having a stroke. Don't worry, I would cry if something happened to Basko. I'm not afraid to say it. I'll go as far to say that once Basko is 6 or 7, I'm going to get a female german shepherd so that if something happened to him, it wouldn't hurt so bad. :( He's laying next to my chair right now waiting for me to accidently drop my breakfast on the floor. LOL Have you thought about getting another dog or do you have another dog already?

Nope, he's still around, just made him all googly and lop-sided. :)
As I type, he has decided it's MUCH comfier tucked under the computer desk so I can't move my legs or the chair now hehe.
