These are a couple of 'fake' commercials i did this weekend. We are putting together a non-architectural demo reel at work to attract some new clients and we needed some eye candy.
All lw, fprime to render...the car is a stock model. Any comments welcome.:)
link to animations http://download.35mb.com/otacon4130/
btw, these are .mp4 files. they should play with quicktime...tell me if you have problems viewing.

pics look very good, as usual!
Won't dl the animations though as the service you use (35mb something) wants to install its own download manager or plugin.
Would you mind putting them somewhere else where no plugin is needed to download?

It wanted to install something in my browser.
I respectfully declined. ;)
Use box.net !
Swiss Trivia: Did you know that if you cross the border into switzerland, and you're wearing a fake rolex, they can confiscate it?
The Rolex looks great.
There was a very slick watch supplement with GQ this month and you're more or less on the money with the way the manufacturers currently present their watches.

Thanks. I'm trying to find somwhere to put the videos that is free...
That box.net only lets you share with select people, and it looks like you need their email.

Yes!
Nice mercedes - lighting was great, a little bloom would push it further, and AA on the logo was sharp.
- tho the links are both the same.

Thx for uploading them somewhere else!
The Rolex one is very good. It nicely shows the details and the perfection!
The Mercedes one isn't there, firstly because the object is not up to the standards. A bit too low poly. You can see it in the reflections and on some geometry that seems too edgy. And secondly Mercedes ads are rarely just the car, at least here in Europe. If you'd want to show more of the forms place the camera closer and play with the reflections. But for this you'd need a better model.
I loved the lighting and texturing on the model though, too bad that the edgy stuff tears it down. (something seems weird about the backplate though, as if it has too low diffuse or something)
Very, very nice.
Love the camera movements and the surfacing detail.
Music is perfect too.

And i wonder why i never post animation...such a hassle to get anything to work....and i can't edit my posts.

Thanks for the crits. I agree about the mercedes. Now that i've stepped away from it, it looks rushed. I wanted to do shots of it driving, but no time.

They are both great. We are critting them based on your level, remember..
If I was to say any thing about the rolex, it would be that it was a little fast, likely due to the music. But really gorgeous.

One of these days I'm going to catch something... honestly... there's never anything to crit other than fantastic job as usual!
The Rolex is my favorite - the smooth animation of the second hand really brings it to life and keeps it from looking like a turntable demo. Simply gorgeous work.

Thanks guys. Glad you like.
Fantastic work, very slick. Just one thing, should there be a magnifying bubble over the date on the Rolex?
