I am wondering if there is a way to set the starting pose of cloth?

I have my figure, which moves into a start position from the bind pose over 120 frames (had to do that long so the cloth rested right)...What I want to do is, rather than calculated those frames again, I want to start the calculation from the rested point.

Thanx.

Haven't tried myself, but You could save the transformed cloth objects and use those. Be careful not to overwrite your existing files.

Yeah, thats what i ended up doing..hehe. It works fine that way as long as the character starts out in the right pose..hehe.

Did You see my clothFX tests?

Very nice..like that you included the settings. I've done cloth in maya, now getting into it in lw.

Did You work with nCloth? Would be interesting to see what You can do in LW.

Yeah, nCloth is pretty easy to use,, except that some of the settings are a little more difficult and the clothing wants to slip off more...LW so far doesnt have that problem, though exploding geometry is always fun...hehe

Hi Dirk.

I am completely cloth challenged (only in LW) and would love to know how you made cloth behave like this. I can go pretty far with tablecloth, cuirtains and capes but when it comes to closed objects like pants and shirts I just can't win.

Thanks

What I've found is that the closer in topology your cloth is to the figure, the better the sim..the main issue making sure there is enough geometry around any joints to allow the cloth to bend properly there. Also making sure that the collision detection distance is not too big.

Would be nice if there were more built in presets than cotton/silk/rubber/jelly.
