How do I edit WMV files

Hi - I have some WMV files that I need to do some editing on. In the past I've taken them into Sorenson Squeeze and converted them to .mov. Then SpeedEdit reads them fine and I can work with them. The problem is Squeeze takes about 10 times the length to convert. I bought Video Edit Magic and it is terrible, though it can get the job done. I bought Camtasia and it works but only through screen recapture. To date I've spent almost a thousand dollars to do this and nothing works well.

I can stumble through it but there has to be some better solutions.

Thanks - I'll mess with both those programs- Have you tried them out and they work pretty well?
