Its been a while since i've been here....
This thing is a British rail locomotive and is about 75% there.
Its mostly to get better at sub-patch modeling...

Looks great so far. Is everything on the train made with subpatches?

Mostly sub-patch yea, exept for things like the grills, glass etc.
I chose this subject because it was the engine that came with a train set I was bought for Christmas many, many, many years ago

I do have my toy train in front of me but the detail is a bit sparse, good for overall form though. Im'm using pictures mostly . Railway enthusiasts have put loads on the web.
Heres the beginning of the bogie too.

This is coming along awesome! Great work, especially all the details!
Having a model to work from is a big help... rail fans DO take a lot of photos! :)
Great work...I'd love to see the final render to see how it all comes together!

It's looking nice. Are you using Fprime for these renders?

Thanks guys for the comments.
Its about 94.24% there now modeling wise, the underside is proving a pain as in most ref. material whats going on there is a bit of a shadowy mystery. I may have to go find a real example and see if they will let me get underneath.
Anyhoo here are a few more pics.

Nice job!
Your model has a good mass to it, looks solid. Great work with the details too.
It even has character........ it looks a little bit upset in the head-on wireframe! :p
Well done.

Hey, that's shaped up nicely!! Holds together really well.
m:)
PS. Didn't they just have a hole underneath with "Hornby" in big letters next to it?
