What is the *best* way to import 3D objects or animations done in Lightwave into Flash? I know about Swift3D but would like to know if there are other ways. For example, does the export function built into LW work properly?
Thanks,

Hi phuile
Currently you can:
1) buy swift 3d which you are aware.
2) buy flicker

3) Export .bmp image(s) and use the auto trace function in Flash. Proton has done very well with this method.
4) Look at Axel Edge (a 3d interactive web format with lightwave .lwo and .lws support for most things...currently no support for bones or character animation data.)

5) Export .bmp image(s) and use illustrator, expression, freehand, or flash and manually trace the images.
6) Look at MOHO a very interesting looking vector animation program

Really it depends on what type of images or animation you are working with. If it is character based then Axel may not be a good choice. If you are trying to achieve a cartoon look then you may want to look at cel shading the images out of Lightwave before tracing them as it will simplify the actual image data and make the trace less computer resource hungry.
There is a solution, it just depends on what kind of image you are trying to create and what kind of budget you have.
Thanks,

Render out using cel shading and import it into flash tracing it to vector (i think flash does this automatically but iv never tried), it should convert it all to vector.
