so i thought id Focus on this.. so here is a model i began tonight.. i'd love critics on the whole thing ,mainly anatomy and topology..

and have a question the little bulges under the lips? i am not sure they are correct as i didnt use a specfic refence?

not very happy with the eyes..

It looks good, maybe the nostrils are a bit large.

The main problem that I can see is the flow of the mesh around the mouth. You need to think about the underlying muscle and bone structure and how it will deform when animated.

It's always good to have good reference.

I agree with Riki that the nostrils do look a bit large. I would think you just need to softent the transition from nostril to inner nose.

Also to add to what Riki said, there is a ring of muscle surrounding the mouth called the obicularis oris that you should account for when modeling to ease endomorph creation and general mouth shaping. Also, if you study the creases of a face as the mouth moves, you should also account for the underlying structure so that you can apply creases on either side of the mouth that start from either side of the bridge of the nose. Take a look at the wireframe on Ripper's model here:

yea are right guys..
i allways have correct loop for eyes, but i get a bit confused
with the mouth loops.. i think its because of my work flow.. anyways ill try to modifiy it to the correct edge loops..

about refernce i have mine.. i just took it out of the back drop as it doesnt really resmeble as its just a proption reference and for detailed refernce i look in multiple images.

and ill fix the nostrilis even tho some people have big nostrilis =)

thanks guys..
i am going to greece for 10 days.. so no updates till then!
big thanks..

btw do you have some tutorial for modeling with extender ? cause with my workflow i finding it very hard to accomplish meshs like ripper's.. so if theres any (doesn't really matter program.. except jaun of arc.. which i know.. but i find some of the work flow lacking )

thanks!

modelling a head with extender... if i'm right, dan ablan's "inside lightwave 7" book uses the extender for a head model... and if not, it's a good book anyway! :p LOL i would say: get that book somewhere!

ps: it looks better than any head i ever modelled :p

its looking very good, there isn't alot i can say except wow! it looks really good and i can really see an old scientist, u just need to singe the old fuzzy hairs over his eyes to make it look like he had a little explosion

looks great but the only thing i see odd is from the height from his eyebrow to the top of his head is a bit too much. should be around two inches or so, this way it makes him look like an alien unless that's what you are going for.

anyway fantastic work!

i would add two ro three horizontal ridges on the forehead, just above the eyes, smack in the middle of the forehead. then it's off to texturing this guy.

BTW He looks absolutely FANTASTIC!

wire mesh.. please

Very nice modeling!!!!!!!

You made some nice changes; eyes still might be a little far apart though :)
