This is my first full character model. I used the Todd Grimes DVD tutorials to model and rig. Next I plan on trying to do a cell shaded test animation.
Comments appreciated.

Cool. But I would have to argue that the Punisher would use something a little better then a couple of crappy revolvers. Give him some desert eagles or a modern assault rifle.

looking nice, personally i think revolvers rule, but this guy looks like he should have a hefty light gun!
if you have to have revolvers, at least give him a couple of DIRTY HARRY .44s; single-actions are for cowboys.

Sounds like I need to get this boy a big gun. Will post an update soon.
Thanks for the advice.

Better... but not BIG enough... also if it's big, it would make no sense to have two... One big-***** gun... Think Rambo, think Serious Sam...

I used to have a old punnisher mag that was soley dedicated to his weaponry.. I'll try and look it up.. the punnisher is probably one of my favorite characters..
If your going for a cartoon style for him he needs to have more gear.. Check out "splinter cell" and you'll know what i mean. Its kindof like that type of weaponry but heavier.

Looks good but I might consider making the hair and brows black.

Noclar7,
Great site. I really like the Steve Wenta "Bisley" stuff and I have always been a fan of Mike Zeck. I'd like to find some punisher sketches by Sam Kieth. Wenta's work has made me think about altering this model into the Lobo character that Bisley did so well.
hrgiger,
After looking at the Steve Wenta artwork, darkening the hair and maybe greying the sides might give him a little more personality. He seems too lifeless in his present state. I wonder if saslite would improve the look or look out of place with the cartoony style.
pnelson,
Dirty, bloody, and bruised sounds like a needed improvement. Hey didn't you use to work for newtek. I seem to remember your post when I was an inspire3d user.
Thanks,
Rich

I recently rigged and weightmapped my punisher and then applied some motioncapture and keyframing.
The animation was done in motionbuilder but all modeling and rigging was done in Lightwave.

Rich,
Yep.. It's me... I left NewTek about a year ago to help my father get his Toy company off the ground!
Even though I'm no longer an employee of NewTek, I'm still a Fanatic for NewTek products!!
BTW: I tried to watch the video and it wouldn't play in my Windows Media Player... Some codec problem.

Hi Philip,
The codec is divx and I believe its version 5.x. When I get home I'll compress a sorenson quicktime version.

Wow. That is a fantastic animation. The rigging-force is strong in this one. So many little motion details. Very cool.
