howdy,
first time poster in the video toaster forum i think!
anyhoo, this is a very general question about the DTV transition and decoder boxes and i'm probably gonna be asking questions all over the place but i'd figure i'd start in my backyard.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
issue:
this company says their DTV converter boxes are the ONLY ones to display asian language closed captions:
http://www.hanacaption.com/default.html
sounds like bs because their boxes don't cost any more and i'm not aware of stations putting out any ccs beyond cc1-cc4... or that there would be ccs that a regular box can't decode.
anyone know the lowdown on this? there's very little info on closed captions and foreign language versions on the net.
but my bs meter is flaring.
thanks much.
jin
p.s. does anyone know where i can find info on los angeles stations and the kinds of closed captions they broadcast?
