Hello...
This is an Aston Martin DB9, using the latest car paint node.
Rendered in 4K x 3K, took 90 minutes to complete.

Nice model! You did not use the new carpaint shader from lw 9.5.1...?

Very nice compositing. I did, however, notice the inside curves on the headlights have some heavy faceting going on. It's a great piece - and one of my favorite cars.

Very nice work Gregg, Car paint could be little more pronounced (more saturation and less this clear coat/specular which hides car color) but it's OK. Only thing you should corrent for sure is to increase SubD level for hi-res renders :).

The geometry of the model looks great.
However, there are some lighting and surface issues that jump out at me a bit.

Around the windscreen you have some black rubber 'inserts' (for want of a better description), they seem overly matte and dull.

The mesh of the front grill doesn't reflect anything. I'd expect more of a AO effect at the edges of the grill where it meets the main bodywork.

The paint colour is a bit 'flat'. What colour is it meant to be as it looks like a bit of a dull grey-pink colour.

The texture of the paving on the road doesn't really work. You can see it warping pretty badly and also it can be seen to be flipped just to the left of the car when there really isn't any light source to motivate a lighting change.

Also not sure how the rims are getting lit. The reflections don't seem to be respecting the environment. Why isn't the inside of the front panel reflected on the rim?

Yeah its too clearcoaty. More red, saturation, and overall darker color on the car paint. It looks like the car is washed out as it is.

Hello again...
I went back and rework some of the things you've mentioned here, starting on rebuilding the front lights and upping the render rez of the car... :foreheads
I tweaked a bit the car paint as well, this time using some real photos of a red DB9 as reference... :D
I also changed the :censored: ground texture...
Did some Fusion color grading and here's the newer version :)

...Damn this time limit...

I used Proof Colors with the "Windows RGB" setting in Photoshop to color correct and view the image, or else the red color blows out with any other (RGB) setting...

Yes this is much better and closer to realism.

Much better Gregg! The car looks really sexy now.
