I'm trying to create a sparkle effect, but am having trouble trying to get the "right look".

Here's a sample of what I want to create, and the current way I'm creating the sparkle (particles/hypervoxels):

but...

I would like to have this kind of sparkle:

Also, the sparkle is actually coming off of the surface, but I'd prefer if it actually sparkled on and around the surface.

Also, if you take a look at the links on the left of this site, you'll see another example of the "sparkle" I'm looking for:

Any help would be appreciated...

Thanks!

Do I get a prize if I tell you how to do this "trick"? ;)

Looking at your movie, you're using a slow speed. Adjust the speed and then change to sprite mode.

First of, make a star picture in Photoshop or PaintShopPro (black and white will do, or just export the picture from Illusion (i asume you used that as an example)

If you want it to look like you example movie...

Add a Light, do a bit of the old lensflare on it...
Add a Particle emitter (parent it to the light), toy around with vibaration and explosion settings...this wil make them fly away from the centre...

Open up HyperVoxels...activate the emitter...
Set the Object Type to sprite...
Go to the Shadin Tab, go to the Clips Tab and add the pictures you've made/exported (make sure you have already loaded them in LW)
Turn on AntiAliasing and turn of Solid...
Go to the Basic clip...
In Color, add a Gradient and set the input parameter to Particle Age, start adding the colors it has to go through..
You can do the same for its Luminosity...toy around with Opacity or Density (try values above 100)

(you might also want to turn the Texture in the HyperTexture tab to 'none' , halps rendering speeds and looks)

Hope this helped a bit...
