I have a problem when i use after effect with toaster...

when i export my video clip (.rtv) from after effect, i find that the video clip cant playback smoothly...i try to export in upper feild, low feild and no feild...but at the end, i find a same problem...i export my video in rtv format in after effect.

i use toaster 2 and after effect 5.5...is that toaster cant support this 3rd party software?

how can i slove this problem?

I use AE all the time and the clip always plays back properly. I use the settings the way they load into AE via the pulldown menu.

You did install the AE driver that is delivered with the VT2 package? If not, go to the 3rd party directory and install it from there. I am not in front of the computer right now, so I have to do it from memory. The clip produced from AE is exactly the same as any RTV clip captured via the VT2 card.

The following files should be located in your After Effects 5.5 directory:

Plug-ins\Standard\Format\RTVIO.aex
Plug-ins\ToasterFB.aex

A simpler method to be sure you have the proper plugins installed, would be to run 3rdPartyInstaller or "3rd Party Application Driver Installer" which can be found in StartMenu/Programs/VideoToaster [2]/Utilities.

i have add this 3rd party installer in my after effect...but every time i close my after effect the follwing command will be appear:

RTME program Error

"RTME" 0X0 0X0 : Frame Buffer Overwrite"
Press cancel to Debug

I don't know why this command always come out when i colse my AE...

Is that this point made the video cant play back smoothly?

another problem.....everytime when i render preview my video in AE, what i can select just only the full resulotion....because when i chose the half resulotion or other resulotion, what can i see just a corner side of the video only...i cant see the full video 720X576...

when i use AE, I face many problem...I hope someone can help me to slove this problem...because i like AE.....

Thanks!!

I have same problem with AE too and for now I don't figured way to resolve, so I quit truing to use AE and switch to Combustion 2.0, only tip with Combustion its that you have to export clip in VT with Video toaster uncompresed codec and Combustion it will work just awseome and most plugins from AE will work in Combustion too.

My best discovery was to make sure you do NOT use the video for windows output module with the VideoToaster codec selected. Instead use the Video Toaster output module (i.e. where you select whether you want to output to an image sequence, video for window, VideoToaster).

Using the VideoToaster through Video for Windows gives some pretty screwy results.

Using the VideoToaster output module directly works BEAUTIFULLY.

I have AE on another AMD dualie workstation, and the NewTek RTV plugins have never worked for me, so I have to use BGR24 AVI's or file sequences to go back and forth between VT and AE.

After Effects plugins shipped w/ VT[2] didn't support dynamic resolution. The plugins shipping w/ VT[3] do.

I think the problem is with your AE IMPORT not the EXPORT. This is a known issue with the RTV plug-in for AE that shipped with VT2. The problem is that every 30th frame is repeated on import.

I believe the problem has been solved in the plug-in that ships with VT3.

As a VT2 workaround you must export your clips from the timeline as uncompressed RGB AVI's. These will playback smoothly in AE regardless of field settings. It also allows dynamic resolution.
