Hi

I'm working on a domestic kitchen archiviz project and got carried away... there's plenty of time though, so I think I will aim for overall high detail.

good models. I think shaders need some more work.

i wonder how you mapped subd wires in the render.
thanks

hi Mr Meshpig..nice model, allready great even on mere lighting

anyhow,..since there's a Mr.Iain's thread about speed modelling on
http://newtek.com/forums/showthread.php?t=87687, and this week was about Kitchen stuff, why don't try it..., with your trained kitchen model aknowledge lol, i believe you could make something great less then an hour..

cheers.

Yeah, I only did 2 quick ones. To be honest haven't done a lot of rendering in 9.5 yet.

The wire render is pretty straightforward.

Download the polygon colouring tool. Apply it to the one surface and it generates a situation using a number of different surfaces where every polygon is bordered by am alternate surface... rather like assigning a colour to every country on the map so that no adjacent countries have the same colour.

Then you check surface borders in the edge pane in the object properties window and because each poly is bordered by a different surface.

It looks like this if you colour the various surfaces in modeler.

Thanks monsieur novawave

I see what you mean. Better rustle up some spoons or a high pressure combi digital steam oven quick smart!!

Nice model Mesh...

Come on, clients can wait, throw your hat in the ring over on the speed modeling challenge. :)

Oh no way... that model obviously took at least 62 minutes!!! :D

- kidding of course - Nice model Meshpig.. :)

Thanks. Ha!, I just posted on the speed modeling thread... you can see there what I can't do in 62 minutes. I had the egg timer on and all.

Hmmm.. that's an idea. Maybe I should just model the egg timer. That way I'll certainly know if I go over the 60 minute mark - and so will everyone else!

Here's a few more kitchen objects...

The "moule"/hand mill ( the first image) I'm told is too dark and in need of a brighter background?

- so, I added a small amount of luminosity to the ground for the next 2 renders and they end up looking like crap?

:help:

Thanks.

Rather than make it luminous, try adding the occlusion node to it in diffuse shading. 250mm range works quite well with small objects.

The moule looks great.

Hey thanks Iain

Will do, otherwise been a bit slack with the node editor.

PS. Too dark in your opinion or not?

- I'm none the wiser after wrapping this for the time being. I couldn't figure out how to exponentially decrease the number of points in a spiral so you have a radial effect with fewer at the apex.
