The LC11 is newer, and supports more inputs for live switching.

What do you mean by "control the media clip?"

The LC11 and RS8 are for control of the VT switcher, not for controlling the DDR playback of media clips.

I mean the live switching not the DDR .
but in the LC11 you said that it can support more input to switch between them , but all the input I have to plug it to the SX84 right .

Yes, the LiveControl LC-11 communicates with VT[5] via USB cable.

hi mr billmi :

Hi Tammam

you said that the LC-11 support more input and this input exist in the SX84 .

The LC-11 and RS-8 are both purpose built keyboards, that include a fader bar and some rotary knobs as additional methods of controlling the Tricaster or VT[5] with which they are being used.

They keys on the LC-11 and RS-8 are not arranged the same as a standard QWERTY computer keyboard, and they have feedback lighting unlike a normal keyboard but their overall function is the same. If you press button 1 on Main on the RS-8 or LC-11, it does the same thing as pressing the number one button on a regular keyboard - it sends a signal to the VT[5] or Tricaster that causes it to select the first input on its Main bus.

The LC-11 and RS-8 don't switch video, or change the number of inputs your VT[5] or Tricaster can handle - they just offer a neatly organized way to send keyboard commands to it, laid out like a traditional video switcher, instead of like a QWERTY computer keyboard.

The RS-8 has 2 banks of main switcher buttons that correspond to 2 buses on the VT[5] or Tricasters, and allow the control of up to 8 inputs on those buses:

The LC-11 has 3 banks of main switcher buttons, that correspond to the three input banks on the VT[5] and several Tricaster models - Input, Preview and Aux. Each bank has 12 buttons, allowing the control for up to 12 sources.

The big difference between the two is that the newer LC-11 has more buttons and more knobs, so it is capable of controlling more inputs and more functions than the RS-8.

so how we can get more input at the SX84 and the SX84 has only 8 input ????
thanks

The SX84 provides up to 24 analog video inputs, not just 8.

The VT[5] switcher can be configured to switch up to 24 inputs, which can be the inputs from the SX84, or from a firewire card, DDRs, iVGA signals, Character Generator, Aura output, SpeedEdit Output, Bob's XTra Channel or other computer based sources.

Ooops!
It was just pointed out to me that the LC-11 pic, and my post are in error.
The LC-11 has 11 buttons per row, not 12 (hence the name LC-11.)

Here's a proper LC-11 picture:

I suspect the other pic with 12 buttons is a Lightwave generated image in which the illustrator may have mis-counted buttons on the model, or the design spec changed before production started.

Check throguh the forum, but I believe it has been mentioned that the next point update of VT[5], which NewTek is working on now, will add TimeWarp and LiveText support among its feature set.
