FiberFX render time

I'm trying out the FiberFX filter in the Mac 9.5 beta. Everything seems to be working fine, but when I set the "Edges" to 2 or higher, the frame takes egregiously long to render. The quick start steps in the PDF instructions suggest setting it to 6. Are there settings that I can change to affect this?

just make sure you are logged in i think, then Beta is very bottom of forums page
