What percentage of Lightwave users are Mac users?

I don't know, but there are over twice the number of posts in the LW - Mac forum compared to the LW - PC forum, so they sure are a vocal bunch.

That's because you have nothing to moan about. What has NT done wrong that ONLY affected PCs? Hmm?
LW is properly optimized for PCs, LW updates/patches are properly tested before posting and you can watch the live stream from SIGGRAPH. Did I leave out anything? I suppose you could bring up the DFX+ deal and the winner of the tutorial contest making a PC only tut, but no sense just pissing and moaning needlessly, right?

Next time, logically think out your comments before posting unless your intent is merely to inflame people.

I wasn't trying to do a platform comparison thread, or anything. I was looking for statistics, or percentages.

I am just curious to know. If you don't have any idea where I can find this kind of information, or point me into the direction of who might please don't taint my innocent thread with your flamethrowers. ;) :D

I would guess NewTek knows the amount of Mac versions and PC versions sold... Maybe they can provide a ratio...

Well, I took a poll a while back in the community section and there were more then twice the number of PC users as mac users.

Unfortunately the sample size is very low... 49 users voted (if you are referring to the thread above)... so not a very good indicator... it might be 80-20% or like the 70-30% that poll shows...

Would be a good sticky too! So new users can add to it... (Mod?)

I am a Lightwave newbie but I have access to both platforms at work, I just spent some time reading some of the threads in LW - Mac, then LW - PC, and Zarathustra seems justified in his observations. Most of the Mac users gripes do seem to be about the lack of parity between Lightwave platforms in terms of Mac version bug fixing, plugin availability, and a lack of general Mac marketing from the NewTek team. I am sure that will result in an eventual decline in the PC to Mac ratios if left unchecked. However it also seems that Lightwave has many loyal Mac users despite those points.
