OK, here's the deal. The Disco Ball effect in the Misc. DVEs folder in VT[4] ver. 4.6 is kind of odd, in that for some reason, it seems determined to *not* show up in a rendered output file (RTV codec), even though some other Alpha-based effects to show their alpha channel upon rendered output.

What in the world am I missing here, folks?

BTW, I've tried to use the FORCE RENDER utility within the EFFECTS folder (slipping that just beneath the DISCO BALL DVE, but can't get the ball to show upon rendering.

It does show in the VT-Vision monitor during timeline playback. What's the secret, and what is so special about that particular DVE (Disco Ball), making it difficult to use without its outputting black only -- compared to some other DVEs with alpha in them, that are easier to use with RTV renders? Thanks for your insights.

Anybody ever used that Disco Ball Effect, and got it to render? If not, would someone give it a whirl please, and let me know how to get it to work on render?

Thanks in advance!

OK. It appears I was erroneously placing the DVE in a track just below the target video clip.

Apparently, the Disco_Ball DVE needs to be placed on *top* of the very clip I want it to be superimposed over in order to achieve the effect I was looking for.

Now I can see it in the RENDER panel, for several uncompressed file types, including RTV and Microsoft Uncompressed AVI in VT[4] version 4.6.
