From what I just saw Proton and Deuce demoing (on a great stream, too!) the Character Animation tools are going to be too freaking hot. This looked amazing!

Just the fact that there won't be a need for skelegons is a major leap forward. Animatable points in Layout is simply superb although, we should have had this much sooner. Everything should be adjustable in Layout. New dynamics. Yep, all very good stuff.

Great job guys! The new IK System, Dynamics and animation workflow seem like a great thing! And boy was it fast at calculating!!!

I can say the bone adjustment (ortho) stuff is very cool already. I can't wait to see any new improvements (as they've claimed) will occur before the release of 8. The new dynamics/particles/soft bodies/cloth stuff is killer though :)

After watching the streams today and seeing the ease of the cloth dynamics I wish I could have motion drive now! I'm working on a project that has a character with a robe and I have been struggling on getting the robe to move correclty with motion designer. That plugin is so complicated. I like the fact that motion drive has simplified cloth dynamics. I really can't wait till the upgrade is released. This alone is enough for me to upgrade.
