Just got back from the party (2:30) no food lots of beer and I'm still standing :)

I had the honer of demoing LW8 to Taron, Don McCoy, Pancho Eckles, Todd Grimes and more...They seemed to be equally excited about all the cool stuff that was being shown.....more stuff will be shown tomorrow(technically today)...must go to sleep for at least a couple hours and rest my brain.....

Tune in tomorrow and watch me rig a character from scratch (no Auto tool) in about 1 minute :)

Cool!
Any chance you could have this for download afterwards since it's only one minute?

Can anyone tell me - what sort of times are the streams from Siggraph.
I know they have a schedule at the main page on Newtek.com but they are naturally "local time".
I live in the UK - so how does say 10:00am Siggraph time relate to my time (GMT)

I'd hate to miss everything simply because I don't understand time zones! ;)

I think you must add 7 hours to your time.
For me it's 9 and believe me, it seems to be veeeery long to wait for news.
Hope they have just a cup of coffee for breakfast.
And then... 8!

Ok,
Now I have to persuade my wife that is perfectly acceptable for me to sit at the computer all night until 12:00 midnight for the next 3 days.
Somehow - even if she agrees - I can see major payback on the horizon :p :p :p

I went to the free training and while we didn't see a lot of 8 until the party, it was still great. I think i finally get motion designer:) And as Splinegod says The quote from Newtek about a few"Enhancements" is THE biggest understatement I've heard! As for non-character folks Look Out. The dynamics engine links everything together. I mean Everything. I don't want to give it all away I know Newtek would like to do that, but sufice to say LW8 will
kick A**!

I was equally excited to cheer for NT and guess what? No way we can view it on OSX in a platform constipated MediaPlayer. There could be a better choice to serve us all (from the platform cross operability standpoint, not that it comes from Apple) by using platform agnostic QT. There will be lots of frustrated people... This should have been prevented.

Just like all the preview QT movies that some people couldn't watch. I know people at WETA couldn't see them because they are running Linux (I had to recompress one for someone there). I sent Lee AND NewTek a message about it and no response other than more mov files.

Ready-fire-aim.

BTW, did *anyone* take photos at the NewTek Party from the other night that they could post online? I'm keen to check out how that went down...
