If you are trying to record your computer screen to an AVI, try CAM STUDIO (http://www.rendersoftware.com/products/camstudio/camstudio.htm) it is a free program. Great for recording computer tutorials or even showing what your VT3 is doing as you work on it.

Or, maybe it's a spinoff(?). The interface looks just like the previous versions of Camtasia.
