Just arrived here some days ago. For 70 Pound at Amazon.co.uk almost a bargain. In Germany I would have paid much more. 16 DVDs, 1 T-Shirt, 1 parrot. Amazing. Almost all Python in a drawer like box.

Just watched the Hollywood Bowl DVD this morning while working on a bump map at the same time. Wow. I missed these boys a lot in the last few years. Hopefully they'll pull something of together before the next member meets Mr. Death.

Cheers
Thomas

Looks fantastic.

I had never thought about it, but I can imagine this forum is rife with Python fans :)

You'll be happy to know it was indeed cheaper than amazon.de .. but not by too much. I make 10 euros difference, but much longer delivery time (it's probably transported from the UK) ...

Thanks for the tip!

Paid 100€, while .de asked for 130€. Ordered on Saturday, arrived on Tuesday. .de wouldn't have been any faster.

Definately not. I misread your post actually .. i read 90! So you are right. A.de asked me 116€ to schwizzera, so still not too bad. I'm excited, but my girlfriend will not be ... she's not really a Monty-Mädchen ..

I understand you so much!

Me: Hey honey, let's see this movie.
She: Oh, no, another one...

Graham Chapman died 4 October 1989. Check out John Cleese's eulogy here:

Oh, you bet! I've been watching Python since I was a little kid.
I have all the videos on DVD. I even have a couple of friends who sometimes call me Two Sheds... :D

She sounds like some kind of holy grail .. hold onto that one ;) ..Certainly one should think very, very carefully before considering marriage to a person who fails to appreciate Python.

I wonder if there's a possibility of conversion ... maybe a weekend long, well lubricated Python marathon (behavioral therapy of a sort).

What's actually even better than watching Monty Python re-runs is enjoying stuff inspired by it or carrying on the Dada trend:

Fry & Laurie
Blackadder
Reeves & Mortimer
The Fast Show
I'm Alan Partridge
A lot of the Saturday Night Live style US stuff
The League of Gentlemen (not the Extraordinary one!)
Little Britain
Mighty Boosh
Flight of the conchords

Not better, just more.

I'd like to recommend BBC America's That Mitchell & Webb Look for fans of Python. Probably the funniest half hour of britcom I've seen since I got my MP box set years ago.

As for wives loving Monty, I consider myself blessed. Every time someone in a movie says "How do we know she's a XXXXXX?" (can be anything, witch, spy, vampire, etc) she quietly replies "Build a bridge out of her!" Too funny. She's also quick to point out royalty in period movies from their immaculately clean clothes.

What else does the new box set have besides the movies and tv series? Any live events or other goodies?

Yeah, Peep Show is brilliant too.

Oh and I missed out Spaced from my list too.
