I've been busy with some print work for NewTek and Siggraph and now I am gearing up to finish off some illustration work for a friend's book. While the image linked here isn't it, it did serve as a experiment bed for some multipass and quick GI tests I've been toying with for the past couple of weeks. Anyhow, I'll post more as I get closer to finishing them.

Cheers! Note, the model is from the TASCHEN BOOKS 500 3D-Objects collection. I just needed something to run a couple of tests on...

out of time my friends..so i have to go the old stand by and use photos for this project. i know this isn't 3D, but I thought i'd show you guys what other type of work i do...and where i come from as a visual designer. :)

the following comp represents about 3 hours of work and is to be considered an initial draft and not final by any means.

the idea behind the piece is this: the book is about a killer who had a really screwed up childhood and now he's paying back everyone who screwed him up in his small town. he fancies himself a photographer and artist as well as a freaking "psycho" killer. anyway, the book would include a set of 9 images that are key elements in the book. this image is my first stab at nailing one of those images. it has several issues and i hope to resolve those in the next day or so. if the author digs my work, she might take me on as the artist provided we find a publisher and the idea flies with them.

anyway, enough of the back story.

here's hoping it has feet to stand on. :)
