I'm trying to render trees using alpha maps rendered onto polygons with dbl side surface but the 'transparent' portion of the alpha/polygon keeps distorting the surfaces beyond. I've attached an image that shows this.
Any ideas as to why this would be happening.

Tree images used are .tif and placed on color channel.
Alpha image is .psd and placed on transparency channel (w/ transparency set to 100%)

Thanks for your help,
Sean

First thing that comes to mind is that your alpha map isn't totally transparent, due to a non 0,0,0 or 255,255,255 color (I don't remember which one is the transparent).
Anyway, use a clip map, it's much faster!

Verified all alphas are 0,0,0.
Tried using clip map and works great!

Thanks for the help.

Did you try a PSD texture with alpha/transparency (but no transparency map, no clip map)?
