What is the best way to connect my Tricaster
to a mac computer running ProPresenter
that will be used not only to play back video clips
but also if possible to play pre.edited overlays
(is it possible to use it not just to play but to overlay
over a video as the normal overlays on the tricaster, like digital juice)
Thanks in advance..

I guess you could do part of this with iVGA, but it begs the question "why"? Could you not not simply play the clips back from a DDR and use TriCaster's own Overlay feature?

Had a client with this question just today SBowie. Apparently they make a dual channel version of ProSenter that uses a dual head Matrox card, intended to go to 2 projectors. ( hymnal lyrics in English and Spanish.. for this application) and obviously the only way to get the 2 inputs is one as a ivga and one as a rf modulated input, or maybe 2 rf's.
I believe the short answer to Saulo's question is to create the ProSenter graphics as white text over black and key them. ( this is what todays client had been doing in the past. ) I'll guess when the new scoreboard stuff is available someone ( i.e.: young monkey ) will come up with something to take the hymns and directly import them.

A lyrics/verse (etc.) display system does seem like something that could (eventually) be done natively. Perhaps in the fullness of time someone will prepare a solution. It's not too hard to imagine something pretty versatile ... for example, musing on an imaginary DataLink update with LiveText hooks added to its existing MySQL support.
That aside, though -- it would be pretty tricky to manage TC for the purpose of presenting dual displays (as in the case of simultaneous Spanish and English streams) .... ignoring the fact that BC allows separate Effects output, as that is a bit restrictive. If the object of the game was simply to overlay text from an external source on prepared graphic slates in a DDR though, or to do that text/graphic comp on the external system and then either 1) overlay it on the program steam or 2) feed it through a LiveSet, that wouldn't be a huge challenge.
