newbee graph editor question

When I had a light selected I clicked the "E" next to the color settings and it takes you to the graph editor. The problem is that I don't want to edit it in the graph editor but the "E" remains selected everytime I go to the light, so I cannot just select a color. Can I stop it from only allowing me to edit it in the graph editor, or do I need to recreate the light.

Use SHIFT+ Click on the 'E' to remove an envelope.

Thanks that reminds me I need to buy some envelopes from the post office today :)
