Here's a car I'm working on. It's no particular kind of car, just my own design. I'd like to hear, as far as the design of the car, what's good and not so good.

The wheels aren't the final ones, I just borrowed them off another model for scale.
The doors are gull-winged and will eventually have windows on them.
I know all of the seams don't line up around the windows. That's ok, this car is mostly a template for the final.
The spoiler is also just a stand in.

Thanks.

well i think it looks interesting :) funny design...between cartoonish and realistic...i will just add some sharper edges here and there and some seams but apart from that it is fun...why dont you make a render in a clear color just to see better the design?

keep it up

I always feel like I shouldn't comment if I can't find anything positive to say. But anyway shouldn't let that stop me :)

The general shape seems too fat in the centre, also the front grill is awkward, not streamlined or elegant. The rear section looks very retro, reminds me of a 70's aesthetic. 'Dark1' is way too obvious, with the cartoon feel it becomes a parody and the windscreen overly large.

Looks like a cross between a mini-vac and an electric shaver.
But then, so do I.

Hmmm, I do see it Liquidpope, it does look like a mini-vac. Maybe I shouldn't have tapered it so much....:)

Riki, I'm not looking for a$s kissing so feel free to comment on whatever you want. I'm looking to improve the design here, so your comments are welcome. It's really irritating when I see people post work here, especially in the WIP forum who can't take criticism. I won't mention any names. But as far as what you said, I don't mind the 'fatness' in the center, it doesn't bother me so much but I agree about the 70's look. It is turning out too much like an old Camaro or something like that. I'm going to have to get some pics of some prototype concept cars to study the designs of them. The grill also needs to change but again, the windscreen doesn't bother me too much.

I'll work on it some more and show another render. Thanks for the comments.

Thanks hrgiger, yeah I know what you mean. I was working on a spy cam last week and did an image search on google. I was amazed at how helpful it was. It makes sense when you think about it.

Here's a few screen grabs from modeler-I've reworked the whole design pretty much...

Still much room for change so feel free to comment.

Way more stylin'

I really like the rear of this new version, but the front, especially at road level, seems too "pointy" and doesn't match the rest of the body.
Maybe a spoiler set into the inside of the fenders would soften that up.

Cool...

I quite liked the first design - apart from the square front, which I think should have been rounded.

The second one? - yugh!

It looks great!
Can you take a render of it in a lighter color?

Oh yea, maybe add some side skirts?
