Review help

Hi, I've been using an older version of Lightwave for a couple of years and I'm thinking of getting the latest version 9. I wondered if anyone can comment on how much the rendering realizm has improved with the latest version. The reason I ask, is I recently tried Carrara 5 software, and imported some models I had created with LW. I was astounded how photo realistic they looked in Carrara, better than LW. However as I mentioned, I am using an older version of LW. I find LW much more user friendly than Carrara, so I'm hoping its rendering, in the latest version is as good as Carrara. Can anyone comment on this?

The rendering in 9 has improved in leaps and bounds. 9.2 is leaps and bounds more then that. I'd tell you about 9.5 but then I'd have to kill you as we're under an NDA.
