I have a logo someone sent me as a raydream5 format, is this able to be brought into LW or does it have to be saved as a different format. I would like to avoid making this person re export if possible.
Any suggestions?
Thanks for you help and time.
LightWave 7.5 only natively supports *.lwo (of course), *.3ds, and *.obj. If you need another format you can try converting it with a 3rd party converter (PolyTrans, 3D Explorer), etc. I don't use those converters often (it's been a while since I've needed to), so I don't know for sure if they support RayDream 5.

Earl is right but he forgot that LW (modeler only) can load *.DXF also.
But raydream format isn't supported.
It's possible to customise Modeler preferences, so that the File Requester will automatically recognise and load 3DS objects. To do this, quit out of Modeler and open the 'LightWave Modeler 3 Prefs' file in Simple Text, and find the line which reads:
FileType Objects .lwo;LWOB;LWLO
and change it to:
FileType Objects .lwo;LWOB;LWLO;.dxf;.3ds;.obj
Alternatively you can just select 'Show All Files' but it's not as cool as the above method.
