Hi, first post here and new to SpeedEdit (coming from FCP and Vegas).

I have SpeedEdit installed in my main desktop but in the coming days I will be on the road with my camera and I was thinking if I could transfer the activation to my laptop and then, when back at home, put it back in the main desktop computer.

If that is possible, is it done on line? Is there any limitation in the number of activations/deactivations allowed?

Thank you very much for your help. I'm looking foward to start editing with SpeedEdit. I love the clean uncluttered interface so far, but I haven't done any proper edit yet.

Thanks again. Best regards.

There is no user-serviceable way to transfer SpeedEDIT licensing from one computer to another. If you build a new computer and wish to permanently move your license to that new machine, a phone call to NewTek Customer Service can get that done. That method is not really designed for temporarily shifting SpeedEDIT to another machine and then back again.

Sorry.

Hi Paul, thank you for your prompt reply.

Hopefully in the coming versions this option will fall into consideration.

I'm very excited about SE.

Best regards.

It might be worth your time to contact your dealer (or where you bought SpeedEDIT from) and ask about a second license to put on your laptop permanently.

Yep, and the "add a seat" license is only $150 (may vary by dealer.) Definitely easier than just buying another full SpeedEdit.

Thank you for the replies. It seems like a reasonable solution. Good to know. Thank you!
