View Full Version : Anyone know of a site that has reference images for car interiors?

I just watched both of Gerald Abraham's car modeling videos which I found very useful to learn some modeling techniques. I now want to model a different car, but I can't find reference images for car interiors like Gerald was using for his tutorial. If there is no such site, what would be the best way to go about modeling the interior to scale? The pictures I've been finding on the Internet don't show all of the profiles that would be helpful. I don't have access to the actual car to take my own pictures. I would appreciate any advice.

I have not seen interiors here per se but this is a great reference (http://www.the-blueprints.com/index.php?blueprints/cars/) if you are planning to do cars.

Thanks for the reply Surrealist. I am using that site for the references. Some of the blueprints will show an interior side profile of the seat and dashboard. I was hoping to find pictures of the top and front views of the interior items to get the proper proportions.

Well, for this sort of thing it is often quite hard to find a detailed blueprint.

What I do is to get as many pictures of the interior as possible from different angles etc and simply try to keep things in proportion using these as a reference.

For things like this I always do a search on Flickr. It's a great resource for photo reference. Just type the car name and the word "interior" in the search field.

such as this for the Audi R8 interior:

Thanks JeffrySG, the flickr link is helpful.

warmiak, I was hoping for another solution, but you're right. I'm just going to have to learn through trial and error to get it right.
