what is the best way to animate a retractable cord. Should I use morphing, but then it only really works on a straight line.
Anyone know a good tutorial
thanks

If you have the cash then I think you'll find one of steve worleys excellent plugins would do what you want, but I'd check this out
Bezier Bend for OSX
http://www.infoseek.livedoor.com/~f_ichikawa/
get the plugin and the example files even if it's not what you want it's still a great little tool and will come in useful some time.
hope this helps

If you are using 7.5b or c you can use the splinamate plugin. It is also a way you could do that. The b and c updates are free.

You could always use the old Morph Down a Bone Chain (http://vbulletin.newtek.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5151&highlight=growing+vines) trick.

Thanks for the suggetions. I have tried the bones with morph method and using splinamate Plug-in. Both are good but just not good enough, too much desportion and too hard to control.
I need to show an electrical cord being pulled from a buse unit and then running back in. Anyone know of anything better for this. It's a tough one. Thanks

Thank Munky, for all the help with Bezier Bend plug in. It worked great and did exactly what I needed.
