I think that in this case is the only reliable solution to make it manually...

riki

Yeah I know, but I couldn't resist :)

by the way-do you know how is it with that user class? (newbie member...).

hrgiger

You can change your class under your user profile if you wish...

riki
07-25-2003, 01:43 AM
Yeah you start off as a newbie and then I think it changes to 'Frequenter', 'Veteran' that sort of thing. I'm not sure how many posts though?? Probably similar to CG Talk.

mathos

but you're still newbie with over than 900 post-why?

mathos

Riki is saying that the class is being upgrade by amount of posts-anyway-I can't find nothing like class in my settings...so how is it?

riki

I changed mine to 'Newbie Member', your the first one to notice. Sorry just my idea of a joke :)

riki

Sorry I meant to say, look for 'Custom User Text' in the 'User CP' under 'Edit Profile'.

mathos

somehow I thought about it like a joke

mathos
07-25-2003, 04:19 AM
it maybe just another sign of my stupidity....but I can't find nothing like "custom text" under "edit profile"....

riki

I suspect (could be wrong) but I think it's an option that's not available to Newbie members.

mathos

I am starting to cry...buuuhbuu.And do you think that stepping into next level will unlock this option? Or is it available for some supreme members?

hrgiger

Try checking again after you've made at least 100 posts...

riki
07-25-2003, 04:41 AM
Keep an eye on some of the other users to see how many posts and when they start using custom names.

mathos

looks very stupid to me-because there is only one way to achieve 100 post quickly-to cheat-because I am not skilled enough to write intelligent-stuffed post:o and as well as I am not capable to help someone with threat...:( ,or I can ask you something?what do you do?->riki+hrgiger -are you fully employed by the lw staff?

hrgiger
07-25-2003, 04:47 AM
Nope, not even partially employed.

riki
07-25-2003, 04:53 AM
I wouldn't worry about it too much.

mathos

sorry for asking:) -I just wonder what do people do here...I understand that sometimes you can run into some interesting tips, but unless you are real-professionals-it can be for no purpose...I think that more vise is to watch the world around us and gather emotions which then put into CG art. It is maybe caused by my age (19) but I do not want to use LW for commercial purposes- it became much better tool when thought of like new-art expression (something like cyber-*ism (I mean cyberrealism, cyberromanticism, cyberpost-modernism ect.). LW is for me a cyber-painting. The new mix-of constant pencil and latent CG. This makes new worlds....

mmm for me it's often a form of procrastination, when i should be doing something more productive.

But your right you can learn from nature, lots of different things. A lot of 3D work is very cold and ugly.

Actually,
Even though I'd posted quite a bit, I couldn't find it via 'UserCP'.
However, If I went into my profile from a message I'd posted, I could access it - strange but true.
