View Full Version : Polygon or Vertex selections doesn't show until refresh

Hi!

In Lightwave 9.0 modeler I try to select a polygon og vertex, but have to either minimize/restore the window, zoom in/out to get the seletion to show. Very frustrating :spam:

I'm using onboard Intel GMA965 x3100

Driver Version: 7.14.10.1437
Vista Ultimate 32bit SP1

First of all-- Welcome to the forums. As for the problem, it does sound like a video card issue, I assume that's a laptop so you can't get a separate video card. Make sure your drivers are the latest. Why not upgrade to 9.3.1 or even try the 9.5 beta? There have been Open GL improvements as well as all the other great new features.

No it's not a laptop, its an ITX computer with laptopt components

I found a newer driver at intel website but same problem.

Yes. I ran into exactly the same thing. I took the laptop back the store for a refund. It would be the video card most-likely.

I'm having similar issues, actually [LW 8.5 on a GeForce 8800]. Sometimes selected points don't show up correctly, and I've never had OpenGL textures render in the workspaces. They render properly in VIPER and the final render, but never in Modeler or Layout, only the base colors. (And yes, I did check on the setting for "Show OpenGL textures" or something like that) Also Modeler and Layout seem to refresh the OpenGL panes a LOT. The screen will blink (refresh) every 5-10 sec about a dozen times and then it'll be okay until I start using it again. It's not prohibitive, just strange and disconcerting.

I'm getting textures not being draw in modeler if they're UV, until I open the texture panel for one, then that one gets drawn. Specs below...

My troubles are similar, but none of my textures will show, not even procedurals (which are SUPPOSED to show realtime in Layout).

Is it because Lightwave 9 system requirement is OpenGL 2.0?

Graphics support: Full OpenGL (OpenGL 2.0 support, or ARB_shading_language_100
OpenGL extension in earlier versions, required to use GLSL features)
