Parenting heirarchy broken?

I have some text broken into character layers. I am trying to put them in order in the Scene Editor. I am not able to do this! I am trying to drag each layer under the First letter. The scene editor does not allow me to do this. Any help?

I don't know how you can reorder things in the Scene Editor--might be a good thing to post under "Feature Requests." Sorry.

Oooops, it does work, in the Classic Scene Editor, not the new improved one.

Again, you CAN change layer order in the Classic Scene Editor.
