This is a parallel post to one I put up in LW General Discussion.
I’m running LW 9.3.1 on a Mac Pro with 2x 3GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon processors. I had a hell of a time rendering a scene — 1 still frame — last week. 10 million polys +/-, interpolated radiosity, lots of image maps. Nothing fancy about the scene. It was just too heavy. I wound up chopping it up into half a dozen lighter scenes and compositing in PhotoShop.
Now, I’m trying to render an animation created in 8.0 — one object, 60,000 polys, a simple spinning logo. 640 x 480. No effects. No radiosity. It crashes.
Every render crashes.I have never had this problem with LW before (been using since 6). Is there a bug I don't know about?
