What would benefit me more?

Adding 1 gig of ram to a TV2 system on a Dual Xeon 2.4 SUPER P4DC6+ MOMBO with 1 gig of ram already installed. Cost = $500.00

or

Upgrading to TV3 with only the existing 1 gig of ram. Cost = $595.00

With 1 Gig of registered ecc memory already on a Intel 860 motherboard (P4DC6+ SuperMicro) would I get alot more performance with 2 Gigs of Ram?

With every one switching to the Intel E7505 chipset, ddr memory, 533 MHz system bus , should I wait a year and go with a whole new setup because of the new processors (AMD Opteron or possibly a new Intel 64 bit Processors)?

In Aura, yes. For live switching, no.

Just want ot add my vote - VT[3] is a no-brainer. Just do it, buy RAM later ... the kids can go without shoes for another winter.

It's kind of like asking if you should use premium gas in the old chevy, or get a brand new rolls. VT[3] is some of the best money I ever spent. I can honestly say that the capabilties of VT[3] gave us an imediate return on investment. :D

(Man I just love this smiley face :D )

I would not even think twice about getting VT3 heck the very first beta version was worth it... and it's come a long way in a very sort time... so ORDER the upgrade now!!:D

Thank for all the quick responces. I have had the Toaster for two years and I love it. I have already made back my original investment. I have been producing custom DVD's and Short films with my Toaster. I am by trade a Technical Director and Master Control Operator for WNBC TV in New York. I don't feel the Wedding and chrurch functions are quite my cup of tea, but I would like to make so extra money with my Toaster. Could any one give me any ideals on what their doing with their Toaster to come up with different revenue streams. What type of advertisment or publications you may subscribe to to get more business. Also, if there is any types of outsourced work comanies may need?

I'm producing 30 second commercial TV spots which are being shown on cable and now in a shopping center on plasma screens.
I'm also working with a stage show producer producing a video that drives and supports a live stage show (Country Music USA, playing at the Riverside Casino in Laughlin, NV).
I'm also creating DVD's from live events for the Chamber of Commerce (in which I created cool flying logo's for an Awards ceremony).
I'm also authoring interactive CD's which has mpeg video (edited on the VT2).
I'm creating video presentations for casinos for 911 memorials.
I work with the local goverment access channel producing PSA's and a weekly 'local interest' TV show (on their VT2).
I teach the VT2 to my former employer and am their tech rep if they have problems with the machine.
And some other things I'm forgetting at the moment :D
