tool that aligns polys to axis without...

I am looking for a tool or plugin that will align all the polygons on an axis without changing the dimensions of each poygon too much. Basically something like the stretch tool at -100% on one axis with out squeesing the polys(the ones which normals run paralel to the axis), but it instead moves them outward.

This would make it much easier for me to use the method described in this tutorial: http://www.newtek.com/products/lightwave/tutorials/surface/smart-maps/index.html

Is there a plugin that will do this? If not is there an easy way to flaten it out?

You can use the Info (i) tool to align multiple points on one axis... just type the number for all the points selected at the bottom...

There are also plugins like AlignToRail... Do a search on Flay.com (http://www.flay.com) in the plug-ins section.

Oops, you were looking for UV flatten tools, check Flay anyway...

I already know about info, that wont work because it still "squeeses" the polys whose normals are paralel to the axis. I am looking for a tool that will flaten it but also take the distance between each point that was there before I flatened it and apply that distance between the points on the single axis.
