You probably don't want to watch it... Hahahaha!! That was funny!!
I've been waiting since 5.0 to see that...
Are you telling us that we have to stop pretending that we're too good to need more than one Undo? Sigh. And I was just beginning to convince myself too...

LOL :D
Hope there is still a modeler undo after you finally decided to add a undo to layout !
BTW I guess a redo is there too ?

I guess that's what happens when you accidentally reverse the footage in VT3... ;-)
Just kidding..

Must be bad frame in the quicktime file somewhere:D
So on the technical side of things, how does multiple 'undos' effect memory? I'm guessing that the scene files themselves aren't that large, but how about if your stretching or deforming a heavy model in Layout, will it have any effect??
ahhhhh, welcome to the real world!!!! ;)

Yeah!!!
They finally got it! ;)
Many many bells and whistles right now!
maybe now people will stop complaining about undo's??? Better late than never!!! I never make mistakes in layout anymore, so there's not much point for it anymore!!:D Keep posting those little vids Lee.

Nice. So, what's the name of the guru that finally programmed it or figured it out? Please step forward.

This doesn´t feel like LW at all. I think i´ll move to another 3d program!

Lee,
could you post a short video showing how the undo feature works with numeric values, say in the Surface Editor or inside a plugin panel?
We do have that feature also, right? (I mean Undo/Redo will work not just in the interactive views, right?)
Greeting and congrats to the team for finally doing the job! We appreciate it.

In the link to the multiple undo video,
http://www.learnlightwave.com/preview_mistake.mov
Not only is there a dynamics tab, but in the top right corner, there's a few tabs that seem to be obliterated by the "copyright 2003, Newtek" text.
However, the letters are there and it was a pretty easy puzzle to solve.
From what I can see, there will also be tabs for "Plug-ins" and "Rigging". I also think the next tab after that is "File", but am not sure.
Heh... Newtek, you dirty dogs... :) probably wanted us to see this... feed the sharks! :)

Gabriel - right now the multiple undos are for item actions. This was the main area of problem, and the one we solved first.

Lee, just one tiny little question.
Does that mean that LW keeps track of the last used tool when switching items? That would be important for some stuff i am doing right now.

CB - I don't understand the question - can you give an example?

at a guess i would say he means can you move your light around then switch over to an object rotate it and strech it then undo all of the above
Gabriel

I think he's talking about:
Move an item, select another item, Undo.
Will it undo the previously selected item's move?

I would assume the object that was rotated/translated would be included in the undo information.
Just like in Modeler.

Thx for answering, Lee.
Sorry for the misunderstanding. Obviously i assume that internally LW will keep track of selections and edits and Undo through different selections. (at least i hope so;-)
What i meant was if i can move an item, select another one, switch to Rotate, reselect the first item and have LW automatically assume the Move tool.
I know that between different item classes (Lights,Objects,Bones,Cameras) it already works that way. It would be nice if LW kept track of the last selected tool of every individual item.
BTW:the video is hilarious :D
