Grid Sizes and zooming

Ok, I just started really using Lightwave 7.5c and I have one little question.... Why can't I zoom in beyond 1'? I am working with detail that is 1". And the snap only snaps to no less then 1". It's driving me nuts because I can't put something where it needs to be!

Forgot to mention I didn't have this problem in version 6.5b because you can set the grid size.

How about the 'Display Options' > Fixed Near Clip Distance.

That's not among the options. My problem is in modeler. I haven't looked at Layout for these problems.

I'm not sure of the problem. I can zoom in to .005mil. How is the Dispaly> Units set up.

Ok, I got it figured out. For 1, when you import a dxf file it blows the scale up for some reason. 2, the larger objects you have on the display the less zoom in u get.
