Not sure if I'm doing something wrong but I only see a few codecs available in render options --mostly AVI's --no QT, mpg, etc.

Is that because I'm using LW in Vista64? I have SpeedEdit (32 bit?) but I don't see any of those codecs in the LW render globals panel. Perhaps there is a way to manually install codecs in LW?

I downloaded this file when Vista 64 first came out:

VistaCodecs_v428.exe

I don't remember how well it worked because I reloaded XP pro 64 about a year ago. You can do a search on the Internet for it.

Quick Time does not support access through 64 bit apps. and does not support x64 at all, unfortunately until apple gets with the program this will remain the case.

64bit programs need their own 64bit codecs.
We use the free lossless codec Lagarith, which comes with a 32 and 64 bit install in Vista and XP 64, so you can create playblast, previews in either 32 or 64 bit programs and play them in both 32 and 64bit players.
Really handy.

Thanks!

So I guess the 32 bit codecs like my SpeedEdit codecs won't show up in LW64 render panel(?).

I'm learning...

Indeed, also, the Lagarith codec doesn't moan and b*tch when it has a somewhat strange sized preview window size (which happens a lot with LW as you can't easily define a preview window with custom or render setting size), and no, the window reziser Master plugin is a pain as it resets all your carefully positioned windows everytime you open a new instance because the script is bugged and compiled as an LSC file, so i can't debug it myself.

I just rendered a test anim in lagarith format, but I can't play it in Windoze Media Player

People still use the deafult window media player?...<shivers>
Download MPC (Guliverkli) as replacement to Microsofts MPC : http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=82303&package_id=84358
Should work (as should it in WMP, but god knows what inhuman contraptions make the WMP run)

I'm rendering a test anim now (in lagarith format), that I'll try to run in MPC when it's done in 15 minutes.
