I notice with every forum I visit, (and I must say that's only two, CGTalk and here...) That the file allowance for avatar sizes declines very rapidly to the point where it's hard to upload a good quality one..
For a short while, they were 200,000 bytes.. Firstly.. Damn. (At least I'm kinda sure they were..)
For an even shorter while they were 40,000 bytes. Then 20,000 bytes.
Now... They are a meager 10,000 bytes.
I had a lot of trouble uploading my current avatar, which, I can assure you, would have looked soo much better even at 15,000 bytes..
I guess there is no real point to this thread, and I know there are perfectly legitimate reasons for this decrease in size, but I can't help thinking that I'll soon only be able to upload a 4X4 avatar which has lossy compression of 95%..
