This graphic was developed for Ceasar Pelli (clarke Pelli Clarke) (http://www.pcparch.com) architects for the San Francisco Bay Terminal competition (http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&ct=res&cd=2&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DtdC aEjGZzBg&ei=tMz1R9rzJo_MecrUoOEL&usg=AFQjCNGYt2VtZrYDZRVo9kDlzAWkLGfh8A&sig2=ZQGxhlR2CBj5K9n2IFRw5A), which was subsequently won. The competition was the largest architectural competition of the decade.

Except (http://www.except.nl) provided all graphic design consulting (color schemes, layout, etc), as well as all diagrammatic mock ups and conceptual design, architectural design involvement (the funiculars, roof top park with water elements and so on).

We were proud to be part of this process, and all we have to show for it is this lousy layed out diagram, which I hope will provide you some viewing pleasure.

The drawing is featured as one of the main exhibition items in the National Academy Museum (http://www.nationalacademy.org/) in New York in the current Contemporary Architectural Drawing exhibit.

Wow! that's great. By the way I live in the area and am looking forward to seeing that project happen. It will be a hugs improvement over the existing building and a great addition to the SF skyline.

By the way I thought the other two proposals.... well perhaps I should just hold back a bit on that ;) but I really feel this one is a better match for SF :D

Exception,

Excellent work! This is one of the things that attracted me to LW - the ability to do great print graphics. Is this purely LW or were the images put together in PS or Illustrator?

Lovely...lovely!

Just watched the video you linked, the author is asking "why are there no people of colour in the artist renderings?"

Talk about looking for hidden agendas! The architects are not making racial statements, it's probably because the object / image libraries they are using don't have any / many.

Geez!

Thanks guys!

tommymamn: The 3D work comes straight out of LW. The 2D elements are from Illustrator.

this was a um.. 5000x5000 render. Yikes.

Matt: I'm off the hook! all the people in this illustration are black :)

I really like your trees. How did you create them?
