I'm going through the tutorials & I started the Beetlebox tut without closing Photoshop after the Spray Bottle tut and this is how the object displayed when it came in.
It rendered fine & so far everything else is Hunkydory but SLOW.
Several times I've almost given up & crtl-alt-del 'd Photoshop because I thought it had frozen. So far though, Rendition eventually pops up & renders.

the issue there is realy how fast Photoshop process and transfers the 3d geometry to the rendition plugin, there is little we can do to speed up that process unfortunately.

we will try to optimize things as much as we can though, how much time difference that means in this case is up in the air(but dont expect any miracles there in terms of time it takes for photoshop).
