This little experiment is about me being afraid of UV mapping. Its two simple planars but, it took me a bit of trial an error.

Separate photos of the pick and page were used. I might add that I am aware that they are not very good photos. I welcome ideas about how to properly shoot the photos.

Comments and Crit are welcome, though I would just note them for future attempts as this is too simple to spend more time on. :D

Nice simple render! Looks like a bass pick

Random thought:

Would be great to turn that text into a bump layer to give the impression that a ball point pen was used at close scrutiny .. (ok not so usefull for this render, maybe to give the impression of other songs written on other pages lying on top of this one ..)

Hey, I like it. Makes me want to do one of my own. The prettiness-to-polygon-count factor has to be one of the highest I've seen!

I really appreciate the feedback. Thank you. I will definitely consider the bump map details in something similar. After freezing the subpatch it had a significantly higher count, but it didn't seem necessary to keep the center polys as this pick isn't rounded or bent from use.
Thanks again :D

Pretty cool! It's always good to do these little test projects to push yourself and learn! :)
