So I'm trying to animate a butterfly, and the wings look too stiff. One thought I had was to add clothfx to the wings and see if that helps it. however clothfx won't work with the morph mixer. anythoughts?

Use bones to animate the wings, or create a weight map on some points of the wings so to fix them.

Morphs will work with clothfx using FX metalink morph, mdmetaplugmorph, or by using nodes.
I agree that it would be better to just animate the wings using bones and more multiple bones in each wing to be able to bend them.
I think youll find that trying to using clothfx to animate the wings will be more trouble then its worth.

if uve ever seen footage of a butterfly... the wings are pretty stiff indeed... certainly when they're being open and closed, such as when the butterfly is at rest... and when its in flight, and they're full flapping... the motions too fast to tell one way or the other, especially with a dash of motion blur.

anyhow... if u want a lil extra dynamic, dont use clothfx for this... use soft fx, much better suited to this task.

I guess it boils down to just how its supposed to look in the end :)
