Nice drawings, they've got a clean and simple style.
@DiedonD:
The language is Dutch btw(my native language as well).
Translation of the last:
"Hey, why are suddenly all the christmaslight turned off?"
"Relax, that's the timing mechanism, sleep on"
"Wow, that's smart of you."
"mwah"
Difficult sentences to translate, but I hope this'll make it clearer. :-)

Costanel,
Thanks for translation.
pilF,
Love the sketches. My favorite is the person in the bath.
Thx for the compliment and translation DiedonD & Costanel, working on 13 new ones for a new calender. Just think about it, I'll be present in every dutch toilet, inspiring moments of relaxation... Ah the humble tasks of a simple illustrator.
Thank you bluerider. I really like your work too. Added a fresh one with translation.

pilF,
Nice sketch once again.
How long have you been making these types of captions.
Did you go to any type of art institution.
Who are your favorite artists.

best wel grappig!
I've been drawing ever since i was a kid, my father would supply me with rolls of wallpaper and i would scribble it with stick figures. He figured that if i didn't run out of paper i wouldn't go for the walls. For the past ten years i've been drawing this style. Drawing digitally took a flight with my first wacom (on my longsince retired powermac G2) and really excellerated working with my precious cintiq. No art education but i did read a lot of Herge, Moubius, Edika, Gary Larson, Nick Park, watched the Peter Pan movie 1000 x especially Hook and looked closely at some dutch artist like Hein de kort, Joost Swarte, Windig /de Jong. Ah and than there are Rodin and Monet, bright lights for a humble scribbler like me. I do some graphic design, 3d, interaction design and video too but drawing is where it all started. Though it did take some time before i dared using my talent. Nearly ended up wearing a tie as a communication consultant in a fancy office but decided just in time that i liked creating the wrapping of the reports better than writing them.
So how did you end up doing what you are doing today bluerider, i remember meeting you at a LW 8 tour in Amsterdam a few years back. Drawing on napkins or anything you could lay your hands on (for lack of wallpapper?). And then there was this animated horse and western setting you were working on.
@3DGFXStudios Ja en deze zijn nog braaf, want verkocht aan keurige klanten.

pilF,
Wow..... you remember that tour, I think 2002. It was my first trip to Amsterdam. It was quite a full house I seem to remember. I toured 32 cities in three months, I found it quite difficult towards the end of that tour just in terms of focus and what I was going to do after the tour finished.
I stayed in Neumarket I loved the architecture, but my biggest event was visiting the Van Gogh Museum and the Art Museum next to it, a few Rembrandts in there. The Night Watchman I didn't realize was so big.
Yes, I'm still drawing and napkins and anything I can lay my hands on. The western style animation I was working on has been threatened to be produced recently, I don't know if it will but in the mean time I am working towards another art exhibition. The pace of the gallery is big so I am going to be busy in most of my spare time working towards this exhibition date in November.
Right now I have a small painting exhibition in a friends Deli.
Work wise, I am extremely busy with LightWave.
been busy drawing more cartoons for a second calender. This one is about gardening on your balcony. It reads
Okay you turned this balcony into paradise, flowers, fruit, birds
But the monkey has to go
No I meant ventilating the room. Not you *#!..

Your work is always refreshing :) :) :) :) :)
The Light Plan I love, could you translate please :)
Thank you Graham. Translating light plan for you err... It's about saving electricity by thinking about what kind of lightsource you put where in your house (cfl bulb for permanent lit places etc.) Also in dutch it's a plan to lose weight. Also wondering about a theme i often see in your work humans and quadrupels (and more) Why this fascination?
