I'm new to SpeedEdit so please forgive me if this is something very stupid!

When working with SE1.0/1.2 I can create projects sized 450x300 for example and use the titles etc all in perfect quality. Rendered files are perfect as well. SE1.5 doesn't let me create 450x300 projects, it automatically goes to 448x300. And rendering creates very blurry or blocky titles unlike 1.0/1.2.

I tried reinstalling SE a few times but this issue stays when upgrading to 1.5 and its gone when keeping 1.0/1.2.

Here's a screenshot showing the differences: http://tex5.com/se_1.5vs1.0-2.jpg

Other than this, SpeedEdit is absolutely fantastic to work with!

You still have your 1.0 or 1.2 on the system, correct? I do as well as 1.5 and 1.5.1. Other than kerning/positioning, it was hard to see what you are about the blur. I do see in 1.5.1 it will not allow 450 and changes to 448 like you posted. Did you submit this as a bugg? Seems like a few months ago some posting like yours was made. Hang in there, it will be fixed.

450 not being divisible by 4, this may be a deliberate design decision, as some oddball resolutions like that can choke certain codecs.

I currently have the latest version installed but I tried reinstalling everything a few times and did the tests while 1.0-1.2 were installed. The locations/kerning of the tiles and the aspect ratio of the background video are also different indeed, which is kinda weird cause its the same project opened and rendered in the different versions of SE.

The blur effect ('I love new york' is very different in the two screenshots imho) is very easy to replicate, just open title template Page167.cg (or any other I think) and render it out to smaller than DV resolution flash file, it'll look blurred in > 1.5 and perfect in < 1.5. The different versions seems to render the same if you stay in the DV resolutions but anything below it creates blurry titles.

I thought asking here before I checked with Newtek support to see if this problem is specific to my setup or a 1.5 issue in general.

Yeah, could be indeed. I don't mind about this restriction as much as I want the quality of < 1.5 back :)
