ok i've just finished a job where the I was doing a good few numbers of cuts to music, and found the following problem.

Say I want on a certain beat to match a cut I do the edit pull back on the time line play it to make sure the cut is correct and all alined to the beat, great, nice and in line. NOW if I pull it back beyond the previous cut point or play the time line from the begininng and what happens in the visual no longer matches with the beat of the music?????? It has just taken me twice as long to edit the job because of this :thumbsdow

Do you mean that the act of "Zooming" in and out of the timeline is changing the position of your clips?

That doesn't sound right.

I think he means that when he starts playback from an earlier point, sync seems to be off at the cut.

Could *where* he's monitoring the video make a difference: that is, the preview window vs. an external monitor? (Not that it *should*).

Also, I'm wondering if his video card and its drivers could cause such a problem...

Yup thats correct not zooming in on the time line or anything just adjusting the sound layer to the image on screen (on screen BTW is On the computer monitor).
Just pull it back a couple of seconds to check it's ok, and it looks ok but pull it further back and play it then and it no longer at the same point :(

You can actually hear the difference, after zooming back? I hope that's not what you've been experiencing; that most certainly would be "not right".

Or are you just noting that visually, it appears to be out of sync after zooming back -- but it plays OK? Here's hoping the latter is the case. :hey:

If you read carefully Peter, Badllarma did not introduce the notion of zooming, and has stated it is not relevant.
