I don't know how close you plan to render it, but I see segmentation around the body, and on the dark line on the right.
Also the texture of the wheel looks very organic. Is that what you wanted to do ? I would have expected a more industrial ridged look.
The borders of the buttons look like shallow grooves in the body, they don't look really "cut". Should they not go deeper ?
Finally, should you not see the wire behind the mouse ? You just see a teeny bit of it, but then it is visible nowhere else.
Just my thoughts. All in all, this is good work.

Work in progress - You have a great concept now run with it. Check the smoothing on the surface of the line on the right, it's a bit angular. Also there is some strange colour leakage in the eyes right at the edges, finaly I think that something needs to be done with the interior of the mouth, you don't need to carve it out, but perhaps darken it to imply an inside cavity.

Don't let the feedback frustrate you, You've got a great character. Any others that he/she will be interacting with on your movie?
